When Rebecca found out she was pregnant, she immediately considered an abortion. She made an appointment at the abortion clinic, but when she got there she made her decision – she couldn’t go through with it. “As scary as it was, there was a life growing already…”

A local obstetrician referred her to Alpha Center for support, where she met with one of our nurses. While initially, she was interested in setting up an adoption plan, once she found out she was having a little girl she knew she had to parent her herself. The nurses were able to refer her to birthing classes, and she was connected with a mentor through our Learn & Earn program. “It took me from being nervous and not having any clue what to do with a baby to being so excited to bond with the baby and spend time together and interact with one another.”

Tatum Joy was born on August 11, 2013, and while Rebecca says the adjustment was challenging, it was made possible with the support that she received through the Alpha Center.

Rebecca recently reached out to us and reported that Tatum just turned five! Rebecca is now happily married and they are expecting another child. The pictures above are from her recent maternity shoot. We were also so excited to hear that her husband finalized his adoption of Tatum – congratulations Rebecca!

Your support of Alpha Center made parenting a possible choice for Becca and she shared that she has continued to feel so supported.
